This is the sixth volume of the Harvard Chinese Language Series. It is designed to bring students with intermediate-mid language proficiency to intermediate-high/pre-advanced proficiency. This volume covers worldwide challenges and viewpoints under four broad themes: illusion and reality, identity and labels, politics and foreign relations, and tradition and transformation. Formal as well as colloquial language is introduced through thought-provoking texts in different styles, including news coverage, follow-up deliberations from different parties, and conversations with people from different walks of life.
