This is the third volume of the Harvard Chinese Language Series. It is designed to bring students with novice-high language proficiency to intermediate-low proficiency. The volume covers an array of topics under four broad themes: *New Arrival*, *When in China*, *Broadening Horizens*, and *Taking a Break*. Functional language and stimulating contents are introduced through exchanges among fictional characters of diverse backgrounds, including Chinese-Americans, non-Chinese Americans, and Chinese from different walks of life in mainland China and Taiwan.
